CHEONG Zi Gi
Yale-NUS College I'dECO, Singapore Zi Gi is a Sophomore in Yale-NUS College. She was a facilitator in the previous run of Chili Padi Academy and is excited to meet more like-minded individuals in Chili Padi Academy 4. She can be found geeking out to astronomy and manga during her free time when she isn't having a crisis about the future of humanity. |
YEO Rui Qi
Yale-NUS College I'dECO, Singapore Rui Qi is a sophomore in Yale-NUS. Interested in philosophy, she is curious about the subjects of morality, ethics and justice. When it comes to the environment, she is particularly keen on issues of climate justice. Rui Qi was also a facilitator in the previous round of CPA and believes strongly in the importance of youth empowerment in making change. |
Regina Vanda
Yale-NUS College I'dECO, Singapore Regina is a sophomore in Yale NUS and she is particularly interested in the intersection between religion philosophy and environmental conservation for important resources especially water and food. She founded a photojournalistic project called Lens On where she shares ideas for sustainable development through photography and journalism. She wishes to share her learning in environmental studies and cross-cultural experience to built regional collaboration and empower youth sustainability leaders. |
Ethel Pang
Yale-NUS College I'dECO, Singapore Ethel is a freshman from Yale-NUS College, and although she does not have a lot of experience in the specific field of environmentalism, she has experience volunteering and engaging in issues of civil society. She's thankful for this opportunity to take part in CPA as a facilitator, and looks forward to learning and growing aside the other participants! |
Oan Jia Xuan, Coco
Yale-NUS College I'dECO, Singapore Coco is a freshman in Yale-NUS College who is obsessed with the zero-waste lifestyle. She was a participant in the first run of Chili Padi Academy back in 2016, which led her to start her own environmental team called Project bECOme. She has since been carrying out multiple creative initiatives to engage members of the public in waste reduction. As such, she is extremely grateful to CPA for kickstarting her journey of public outreach, and is excited to return the kindness and give others such a transformative experience by becoming a facilitator! |
Nabilah Abdul Rahman
Yale-NUS College I'dECO, Singapore Nabilah is a freshman in Yale-NUS College. She loves being in nature and her camera roll is almost always filled with pictures of trees and the sky. Nabilah also mentors primary school students in her free time and is known for her extensive tote bag collection. She believes in mindful and responsible consumption and is looking forward to learning with all the participants in her first year with Chili Padi Academy. |
Jing Ying Yeo
Yale-NUS College I'dECO, Singapore Jing Ying is a tree hugger who loves pink and Hello Kitty. She graduated (with a larger wealth of knowledge and compassion for the environment) from the first round of Chili Padi Academy in 2016 and is now a student at Yale-NUS College. She hopes to be able to spread eco-consciousness to more people by volunteering actively with various environmental groups in Singapore such as Plastic-Lite Singapore and LepakinSG. |
Indonesia
Kemas Rahmat Mubarrak
Indonesia University of Education, Indonesia Kemmy is a sophomore in Indonesia University of Education majoring in Psychology. After his contribution as a Chili Padi Academy participant back in 2016, now he continues his experience as organiser in this run. His project 'Kantin Bebas Makanan Sisa' from the first CPA made him a finalist in the 10th Toyota Eco Youth. Not just an environmental enthusiast, he is an active public speaker and takes part in various social projects. Currently he is a team leader in the leadership organization, AIESEC in Bandung. He looks forward to not just sharing his experience but to learn together with the participants in the 4th Chili Padi Academy. |
Virna Fitriani Dewi
Padjadjaran University, Indonesia Virna is a third year student of Padjadjaran University, majoring in Agriculture with a specialty in Soil Science. She has been a member of International Association of Students in Agriculture and Related Science (IAAS) since her first year, becoming Head of Partnership in 2018 and joining AIESEC Bandung in the second year of her studies. She has joined CPA because her concern is Humanity and Environment as it is mentioned in some points of SDGs. Virna was also a participant in the Village Concept Project, a project that focuses on developing a village through providing agricultural education. Later, she became a facilitator of iGreen Winter Project 2017 with exchange participants from many different countries in making Local Microorganisms and Verticulture. Virna also loves to make friends with everyone, even new people, and is always excited to challenge herself. With every experience that she has, she looks forward to sharing, working, and learning together with the participants of Chili Padi Academy 2019! |
Bening Kalimasada
University of Indonesia, Indonesia Bening is a freshman in University of Indonesia majoring in Environmental Engineering. She was a participant of Chili Padi Academy 2.0 in 2017 and then decided to contribute more for Chili Padi Academy as the organiser. Her project as the participant of CPA 2.0, "Notice Me, Takakura-senpai" project which is concerned in food waste prevention and management by doing Takakura Composting Method, is still being conducted up until now. Bening is also active in some social and educational project or event. She is a facilitator of Children Forum in her hometown, a founder and the CEO of a project that is concerned in internet use by children called WeKid Creator, and she works as a part-time creator and translator of learning module for students. She also joins AIESEC in UI and an organization in her faculty that teaches academic lessons for unfortunate children in scavenger community. Bening has a faith that inspiration is an important thing in life to make people be impactful to their surroundings and she believes that everyone can inspire others. She hopes, in Chili Padi Academy 2019, everyone can get inspired by one another and can be an impactful part of solving environmental issues. |
Philippines
Vermon Timbas
Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Philippines Vermon is an Environmental Management Specialist II of Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Environmental Management Bureau (Central Office). He has been in the government service for almost 6 years with expertise in Environmental impact Assessment and Management, Compliance Monitoring and Evaluation, Environmental Compliance Assistance System and Environmental Education and Information. He studied BS Chemistry in Bicol University and completed an Introduction e-Course on Environmental Science in Darthmouth College and Civic Ecology in Cornell University. He is one of the youth advisers of the Greenducation under DENR-EMB, this is the first in the Philippine History that a national government created a youth network that greenducates Philippines, one youth at a time. An active climate reality leader and a 2015 mentor for environment for Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative- Alumni Mentoring Program through Leadership and Influence to Filipino Youth under US Embassy-Philippines. He believes in youth involvement as part of the solutions in addressing environmental and global challenges. |
Amiel Louise Rivera
University of Philippines, Philippines Amiel Louise Rivera is a freshman from the University of Philippines, studying Fine Arts. She is currently the Publicity Committee Head of Greenducation Philippines — an organisation organised by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Environmental Management Bureau. Being an environmental advocate for seven years, she has been focusing on doing volunteer work, and raising environmental awareness through environmental activism and education. She’s very glad and is looking forward to share her experiences as a fellow advocate and be able work with all of you. |
Dave Ang
University of the Philippines Diliman, Philippines Dave is a former Veterinary Medicine Student and currently a student majoring in Science in Sports Medicine at the University of the Philippines Diliman. Growing up in one of the most Biodiverse countries and inspired by his pet companion, Lucky, made him realize the dedication and passion he has for wildlife conservation. As an environmental advocate and currently the Chairperson of GREENducation, a youth-led organization that aims to empower the youth through environmental education, he is dedicating his life to wildlife conservation through biodiversity protection and education; Dave wants to be the voice of the silenced. |
